An Introduction: Part 3

hello part 3 (in 3D!)

Well, here we are. The grand finale! The epic conclusion to my own little introductory Hobbit Trilogy (fun, but probably split into one part too many). Like many great trilogy cappers, I am going to attempt to deliver on the promise-of-premise that was laid down back in the very first entry – that is to say, I’m going to finish talking about all of the things I said I would. The last topic remaining? Well I guess that would have to be…

The Forbidden Dish Film

So, if I had to guess, I’d imagine that there are two distinct groups of people reading this post: those that are members of the vore or giantess communities, those that have likely never heard of such things before this project, and those that can’t count. Despite the obvious differences between these subsets, I want to assure you that this movie will appeal to everyone. No, not in the Pixar sense that it is a lighthearted family romp that will be fun for all ages (seriously – don’t bring the kids), but in that it will not be exclusionary. You need have no prior information on or interest in either vorarephilia or micro/macrophilia in order to get the full effect or enjoyment from this story. That said, if those are topics that tickle your fancy (re: genitals) then this film should also be right up your alley. It does not attempt to hold back or play it safe when it comes to displaying these interests and desires on-screen or pussyfoot (such a fun word!) around otherwise taboo topics. In fact, part of the reason that drew me to this project as my first film is that this is precisely the sort of story that “Hollywood” would never make (Unless Jeff Bridges was in it. That man can make anything work.).

Let me also make this very clear: this project is not some tiny fetish video to be posted online (not that there’s anything wrong with those), but a full-length feature-film with a budget to reflect that fact. Don’t get me wrong, this won’t be Avengers Endgame (or even Ant Man and the Wasp) – this is an independent film with a corresponding price tag – but there will be a full cast, crew, and proper equipment to make sure that this project is done justice (And, speaking of justice, unlike Justice League there will be no convenient plot twists predicated on similarly-named family members). I want this movie to serve as not only a love-letter to the wonderful stories on which it is based, but as an introduction to the involved fetishes for the larger world. Too often, individuals with these proclivities feel that they must throw on their sexual invisibility cloaks (though aren’t all invisibility cloaks really sexual invisibility cloaks with the right attitude?) when it comes to expressing their desires to their partners. Phooey with that! Show them this movie and say: “Yeah, kinda something like that.”

The Stories

One important fact about this movie is that it is based on a series of short stories written by trio of talented authors who are well known throughout their respective communities. The original Forbidden Dish story was created, and subsequently followed up on, by Mariusmule (not his real name, in case you can’t guess). Upon reading, and falling in love with, these stories a second author by the name of oishi1 expanded upon that world with his own tales. A similar scenario followed suit with the third leg of this wonderful tripod, FS-the-voresmith. This un-holy trinity managed to weave around 35 yarns set in the world of Forbidden Dish over the course of a great many years. When I first came upon these stories, I was immediately blown away by the craftsmanship on display – the rich world and interesting characters seemed to jump right off the page (scared the shit out of me). After reading and re-reading these stories countless times, I knew that they were something special. I also knew that this was a world that needed to be shared with a wider audience – which is exactly why I reached out to these lovely individuals and let them know that I was interested in obtaining the necessary rights and adapting these stories to film. To say that they were all a joy to work with would be an understatement – each and every one of them could not have been more excited or supportive of this endeavor and for that I can’t thank them enough (though I will continue to try). If you are at all interested in the project (and, I mean, you are reading this post after all), then do yourself a favor and take the time to explore the original stories – you won’t regret it. (Unless you do.)

The Women

Much like my interest in supporting and displaying the interests of the above communities, there is another criminally underserved population that I would like this movie to help empower – women (the section heading gave it away, huh?). It is crazy for me to think that that a group that encompasses half the worldwide population is so underrepresented in media, both in front of and behind the camera. While I am but one man (damn men), I would love nothing more than to be a small part of correcting this injustice. In fact, the strong cast of (primarily) women within this story was yet another call that beckoned me towards the creation of this film. But beyond what you see on screen (no – not the wall), I also want women to make up a sizable number of the crew and creative team dedicated to bringing this project to life. I want their involvement in this film to help launch the careers of everyone connected to it – from the artists on the soundtrack, to the make-up department. If that means that it allows more women get their foot in the door of the entertainment industry, then I would consider that a rousing success (I would, however, be curious is know the technical difference between a success and a rousing one – is it distance?).

The History

While this is a topic that I plan on covering in more detail at some point in the future, I will use this opportunity to give a (brief) overview of the work already done on this project – lest you think this is merely some whim on which I only momentarily rest my hat (Good Day, Sir!). In fact, this project has been in the works since January 1st, 2017 (before that, really, but it’s as a clear a dividing line as I could find between this portion of my life and the last) and has encompassed a solid 2 ½ years of work. A selection of just some of the work done throughout the course of this project includes (but is not limited to): drafting legal documents and obtaining the rights to the short stories on which it is based, writing and re-writing the screenplay, digitally hand drawing over 6500 individual story boards, recording my voice and using the storyboards to create a full-length animatic (an animated version of the movie meant to give an idea of the look and pacing of a film), breaking down each and every prop/item/location/piece of clothing/piece of equipment needed for the film, creating a detailed and realistic schedule for all 50+ days of production, and putting together a specific and (by movie standards) relatively low budget needed to bring this film to life. So, basically, I’ve just been a lazy asshole.

While this is far from a full accounting of what has been done, and not a fraction of what is yet to come, I wanted to let you know (dear reader) that this is not some passing fancy. The creation of this film is the Sarah Conner to the Terminator of my will (but you know, with better results). I am so excited to be living my dreams by making something I care so passionately about and that I can’t wait to share with the wider world. I wish I could just link to the Blu-ray right here and tell you to go check it out – unfortunately, the laws of space-time apply somewhat more stringently to me than to the aforementioned Terminator. As such, the movie needs to actually be made first – and so that is where you currently find me: working day-in and day-out (otherwise known as night) to bring together the necessary elements to create the magical gumbo that is a film.

I look forward to sharing this journey with each and every one of you (Someone needs to remember to pack the Doritos. Not it!),

Chris
