Hello all,

Just a quick post to let everyone know that one of my latest original scripts – The Shark is Not Working – was was chosen as a Second-rounder in the 2023 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition! Based on nearly every firsthand account available, the script tells the real-life story of the making of the iconic classic, JAWS – from drafting the initial book all the way to the eventual wide-release.

LOGLINE: “Young director Steven Spielberg undertakes the challenge of his career when he begins production on one of the most infamously difficult film shoots in history – an adaptation of the best-selling novel, JAWS.”

As JAWS, and the accompanying VHS making-of specials, were some of the first things every spark my interest in the art of film, this is an especially great honor. This script means a lot to me and involved a great deal of time and research. As such, I hope to one day be able to share this wonderful story with the world and see it fully realized on-screen.

On a related note, work on the Forbidden Dish proof-of-concept continues and I hope to have a more fleshed-out update on the matter ready to share in the future.

Until next time – Have a Happy Holiday Season!

Chris
